About The Author

Aden Kamugisha’s unconventional journey began in 1963 when he was born in Kyampabuka, Kyesika, Ndeiia, now Rwampara District in Southwest Uganda. His journey began with a setback when he lost a term of education due to the NRA war that had closed off the region from the rest of the country. Despite the obstacle, Aden was determined to continue his education and eventually attended Makerere University in 1986.

After completing his studies, Aden worked as an NRM mobiliser before embarking on a new path by joining the Uganda Prison’s service, alongside 19 other university graduates. He was posted as an Assistant Superintendent of Prisons in Masaka District, where he dedicated two and a half years of his life to serving the community. However, his time in prison service was cut short when he was retrenched in the World Bank’s structural adjustment program.

It was at this point that Aden’s journey in living an unconventional life began. His experiences have given him a unique perspective and a wealth of insights to share. From overcoming obstacles to navigating unexpected career paths, Aden’s story is one of resilience, determination, and courage.
