Ben Kokas is an accomplished communication professional and editor with more than two decades of experience in the field. He began his career as a radio journalist/presenter before joining Uganda’s top daily newspaper as a journalist.
In recognition of his exceptional coverage of population and development issues, Ben was honoured with an award by the Population Secretariat and the United Nations Population Fund in 2008. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Makerere University and a Master’s in Corporate Communication from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy.
Currently, Ben is a vital member of the editing team responsible for the Parliament Hansard, where he handles assignments requiring exceptional attention to detail and a zero-tolerance policy for errors. He played an integral role in compiling and editing the Directory of the 10th Parliament and has been a part of the teams tasked with editing the Hansards of both the East African Legislative Assembly and the Pan-African Parliament.
Aside from his professional work, Ben Kokas positively influences others, encouraging them to use their talents and networks to make a difference in the world. In his free time, he enjoys reading, debating, and listening to Christian music.
