About The Author

Uganda Medical Association (U.M.A) is the umbrella body for the over 7,000 medical doctors in Uganda and Ugandan doctors in the diaspora. Established in 1964 initially as a branch of the British Medical Association in Uganda, the Association works through fifteen regional branches fashioned around the Regional Referral hospitals. Our mission is the Welfare and Professionalism of the doctors of Uganda and for the people of Uganda to enjoy Quality Health Services. We advocate for the welfare of Doctors, high standards of medical training, practice and professionalism, and access to quality medical care for the people of Uganda. We also promote health and conduct community health programmes across the country.
