AIGP Asan Kasingye is a seasoned, professional, and highly learned Police Officer that rose through the ranks to become an Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) of the Uganda Police Force (UPF). He joined the UPF in 1989 at the rank of Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP). Having worked as OC Station at Entebbe for 5 years and a short stint in Apac, he was transferred to Police Headquarters in August 1994 to launch a Community Policing and Crime Prevention Program.

He quickly forged ahead working as the Commissioner for Community Affairs, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the UPF to be appointed as an AIGP and first-ever Chief Political Commissar. He was later transferred to INTERPOL and International Relations as Director from 2011 till April 2017.

AIGP Asan Kasingye holds a bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics from Makerere University in 1988 and a Masters’s Degree in Public Administration and Management from the same institution in 2001. He has taken numerous courses abroad relevant to Community Policing and Crime Prevention.

Afande Kasingye is a disciplined, humble, committed, and focused police officer who will not rest until a social problem has been solved.
