It is with profound sadness and disbelief that we come to terms with the passing of Hon. Onapito Ekomoloit, a man whose brilliance, passion, and dedication left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Hon. Onapito, affectionately known as Ona, departed this life on 27th September 2024, and was laid to rest on 30th November 2024. His untimely departure has created a void that is hard to fathom, not only in the literary world but also in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him personally.
As a gifted and meticulous writer, it was an honor when Ona entrusted AuthorPad Publishing House with the editing and publication of his manuscript last year. Reviewing his work, we were amazed by its near perfection, leaving us to ponder how much more refinement could possibly be needed. True to Ona’s meticulous nature, his work was already of the highest caliber, with every word thoughtfully crafted. Our role was simply to fine-tune an already masterful piece by adding what was missing and ensuring it was presented in the best possible way.
Ona had a clear vision for his book, Tears & Triumph, and was actively involved in every aspect of its production—from the design concept to the layout and launch. The book’s release, which coincided with his farewell party, was a grand affair that mirrored the precision and thoughtfulness that defined him. His attention to detail was unparalleled, and he never accepted anything at face value. He was always driven to understand the WHY and the HOW behind every decision, making it an intellectually enriching experience to work alongside him.
Tears & Triumph was not only visually captivating but also a rich and inspiring read. The book’s success was swift, with the entire first edition selling out within six months. Its popularity is a testament to the powerful and insightful content that Ona poured into his work—those fortunate enough to own a copy hold a true treasure. We at AuthorPad thoroughly enjoyed every moment of working on this project and eagerly anticipated the autobiography he had promised to write in the future. Tragically, that book will now remain unwritten.
On a personal level, I was blessed to know Ona beyond his literary achievements. He welcomed me into his home on several occasions, where I witnessed the depth of love and dedication he had for his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Cathy, and a loving father to his children. His commitment to providing the best for his family was evident in every conversation, and his legacy as a family man is one to be admired and cherished.
To Cathy and the children, I extend my deepest condolences. May the Lord provide you with strength and guidance as you navigate life without Ona. While the road ahead may seem unclear, trust that His love will illuminate your path, and that Ona’s legacy of love, faith, and wisdom will continue to guide and comfort you.
Hon. Onapito Ekomoloit will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through his family, his writings, and the many lives he touched. Meeting him was a blessing, and we at AuthorPad will forever be grateful for the lessons we learned from his brilliance and grace.
Adieu, Ona. May Your Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
